Role Summary
- The main duties of the job are to perform a wide range of MRI imaging examinations
- Ensure high standards of MRI imaging and patient care working in a Multidisciplinary team.
- Independently assess and justify MRI referrals following Department policy and guidelines where appropriate.
- Participate in the out of hours / on call / extended working day service as required.
- Supervise and assist specialist and junior Radiographers and students.
- Provide senior support to the MRI Lead and to provide senior cover during the Lead's absence.
- Use professional discretion and experience to ensure that clinical practice is carried out correctly, professionally and within the legal framework.
- Assist the MRI superintendent in developing the MRI service.
- Manage a clinical workload and meet deadlines.
- Undertake personal and professional development.
- Prioritise workload and regularly reassess to ensure patient needs are met.
- Give IV injections of MRI contrast agents, including the use of specialist injector pumps.
- Participate in general radiology service, including on call.

Come and join our amazing Radiology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and discover for yourself why we’re consistently voted as one of the best Trusts to work for in the South West. We are looking for a flexible, motivated and enthusiastic Rotational Band 6 Radiographer to join the Radiology team in North Devon. As a valued member of the team, you will help support both the MRI and imaging service.
The Department has recently undergone extensive refurbishment including a Siemens Avanto FIT MRI upgrade, procurement of a 2nd MRI scanner, a new CT suite with back to back Siemens Somatom Xcite CT scanners, 6 general DR rooms, 2 Interventional rooms and a DXA suite. . A training position will be considered.
Working Pattern: Monday -Friday, 8am-6pm
