Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Perinatal Pelvic Health Specialist Midwife for Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The Perinatal Pelvic Health Specialist Midwife will work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to enhance the prevention of pelvic health injury in pregnancy and birth. This will include the introduction and support the delivery of the OASI care bundle, education for staff and service users and identifying those at risk of pelvic floor injury. This specialist midwife will work across the geographical area of Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, working in both Exeter and North Devon. The specialist midwife will work with the Pelvic Health Specialist Physiotherapists and the wider Devon team to develop pathways and continue to embed this new service. The post holder will be a lead for maternity services and will have expert knowledge to support all members of the multidisciplinary team and our service users.

The Perinatal Pelvic Health Specialist Midwife for RDUH will work across both Exeter and North Devon, providing specialist and expert knowledge to enhance the prevention of pelvic health injury in pregnancy and birth. The post holder will work clinically and be able to offer assessment and evidence based information and advice, in collaboration with the specialist physiotherapy team. The post holder will also work to develop and enhance these pathways, working closely with the wider Devon team, and will act as a lead and specialist resource for RDUH maternity services. The post holder will be responsible for providing consultations, advice, referral and treatment where possible and within their scope. The post holder will be a visible leader and will be a part of the on call manager rota. 

Working Pattern: 18 hours 45 mins each week.
